When the 1,100-acre masterplanned development Painted Tree in McKinney was initially announced in October 2020, the North Texas housing market was red hot and interest rates were at historic lows. emand for new homes in North Texas was soaring, supply wasn’t keeping up, and the developer, Dallas-based Oxland Group, had just nabbed one of the last infill development sites in highly sought after McKinney.
