Oxland Group Hosts the Grand Opening of Painted Tree in McKinney, TX

Saturday, September 9, 2023

Oxland Group, a Dallas/Fort Worth-based residential development company, on Saturday, September 9 hosted the grand opening of Painted Tree, the 1,100-acre master-planned residential community in McKinney, Texas. Painted Tree is located three miles from downtown McKinney, north of U.S. Highway 380 between Hardin Boulevard and Lake Forest Drive. Connected by 25 miles of trails, the community boasts three districts and 3,400 total residential homesites offering single family detached, townhomes, and semi-custom homes for sale, as well as various homes for lease.
More than 3,500 people attended the Grand Opening event that offered tours of model homes, plus a festival experience with McKinney Mayor George Fuller on guitar, live music, food trucks, petting zoo, and a ribbon eating ceremony with Taco the Goat. Guests were also introduced to McKinney-based ManeGait, Painted Tree’s charitable partner which provides horse therapy for kids and adults with disabilities.
“We’re thrilled to officially celebrate the opening of Painted Tree near the heart of beautiful downtown McKinney,” says Tom Woliver, co-president and founder of Oxland Group. “We are proud to create a welcoming and vibrant community for the people of North Texas and to see residents and future homeowners enjoy the experience that is Painted Tree.”

Diverse Collection of Home Builders

Painted Tree is made up of three districts with each featuring its own distinct mix of homes. Nine home builders were represented at Painted Tree’s grand opening event, offering homes that range from the high $400,000’s to the $800,000’s. Builders include CB JENI Homes, Centre Living Homes David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, Normandy Homes, Southgate Homes, Tri Pointe Homes, and Trophy Signature Homes. Additional homebuilders will be announced in 2024.
“Our intentional selection of distinguished home builders caters to the needs of today’s homebuyer and offers more variety in architectural beauty,” says Woliver. “Our homes and amenities complement the nature, arts and entertainment culture so well defined by the community of McKinney.”

Amenities Showcase

Located in the Village District, the Village Trailhead and Pool amenity features a community pool with water features, sun shelf, and open-air pool house for people to gather. The area also includes a lawn, playground, and Strider pump track.
Guests of the Grand Opening event got a sneak peak of The Outpost, Painted Tree’s signature community space inspired by our National Parks in both design and purpose. Located in the Lakeside District, The Outpost will serve as a gathering place featuring a pavilion with a covered porch, lookout tower, and plans for a food truck court, outdoor-adventure park, children’s playgrounds, and more. It is expected to open in 2024.

Residential Real Estate Industry Recognition

In July 2023, Painted Tree made its debut on RCLCO’s Mid-Year 2023 nationwide list of 50 top-selling communities by recording 223 homes sold since the beginning of the year. “It’s nearly unprecedented to make this list prior to a Grand Opening,” says Woliver. “This is a great testament to the health of the housing market in McKinney and North Texas.”
